Our History
Dr. William Scholl (1882 - 1968) designed and sold the first Scholl products in 1904. Over the years, Dr.Scholl added new products, all designed to cure everyday foot problems. That's how the famous Scholl footwear was born. During the next decade Scholl companies expanded internationally, making Scholl one of the first truly global brands.
In 1979 the Scholl family sold their interests in the business to Schering-Plough. They in turn sold the Scholl business outside the United States to a British company, European Home Products plc, who changed their name in 1990 to Scholl plc
Scholl plc is now owned by SSL International plc and is UK based
